본 프로젝트는 ‘과거와 미래를 아우르는 현재의 위대함’이라는 주제로, 시간을 탐구하는 전시와 공연을 통해 다양한 관점과 감성을 공유하는 융복합 문화 예술 행사이다. 단순한 정보 전달이 아닌, 오감을 자극하는 몰입형 예술 경험을 제공하는 것을 목표로 하며, 풍부한 스토리텔링과 강렬한 시각적 요소를 통해 관객들에게 감성적인 울림을 선사한다. 특히, 전시가 펼쳐지는 ‘서울역’이라는 공간의 역사적 의미와 전시의 서사를 연결하여, 그 의미를 더욱 확장하고자 하였다.

전시는 공간의 동선에 맞춰 PART 01부터 PART 03까지 구성되며, ‘과거, 미래, 현재’를 감성과 희망의 시계로 표현한다. 관람객은 전시의 초입에서 시간이라는 불가역적인 개념을 체험하며, 시간이 모든 사람에게 평등하게 흐른다는 사실을 인식하게 된다. 그리고 삶 속에서 긍정과 부정 중 무엇을 선택할지는 결국 개인의 몫임을 상기시킨다.

과거는 아픔과 시련의 시간이 아니라 ‘긍정 시계’로서 안식과 위로를 제공하는 공간으로 재해석된다. 미래는 무한한 가능성과 상상력의 공간으로 ‘지향 시계’로 표현되며, 현재는 우리 삶 속에서 느끼는 기쁨과 순간의 가치를 담아낸 ‘쾌락 시계’로 구현된다. 이러한 시각적 해석과 작품들은 감각적인 몰입을 유도하며, 시간이라는 개념을 새로운 방식으로 경험하게 한다.

PART 04부터 PART 07까지는 보다 능동적인 참여가 이루어지는 체험형 전시로 구성된다. 관람객들은 시간에 대한 각자의 해석을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 공간을 제공받는다. 지우고 싶은 기억이 있다면 그것을 버릴 수 있으며, 소중한 기억이라면 정원을 만들어 간직할 수도 있다. 이를 통해 관람객들은 단순히 전시를 소비하는 것이 아니라, 자신의 경험을 예술로 변환하는 능동적 참여자가 된다.

전시의 마지막에는 본래의 입구로 다시 돌아오도록 동선이 설계되어 있으며, 이는 인간이 시간의 순환 속에서 벗어날 수 없는 존재임을 상징적으로 표현한다. 관람객들은 이 여정을 마치며 단순한 전시 관람을 넘어, 시간의 의미를 새롭게 재정립하는 과정에 참여하게 된다. 본 프로젝트는 단순히 시간을 기록하는 전시가 아닌, 시간과 인간이 서로 관계를 맺고 의미를 창조하는 예술적 여정으로 자리매김한다.

PART 01. 과거 : 긍정시계

돌아보면 힘겹고 안타까운 순간도 있었지만, 그 모든 날들이 모여 지금의 내가 되었다. 비록 과거는 희미해진 오래된 앨범처럼 바래가지만, 여전히 따뜻한 기억이자 마음을 쉬게 하는 안식처가 된다.

PART 02. 미래 : 지향시계

우리는 미래를 준비하는 동시에 꿈꾼다. 미래를 상상할 수 있다는 것은 경이로운 일이며, 그 속의 우리는 어디든 갈 수 있다. 아직 오지 않은 시간이지만, 그 가능성만으로도 우리는 앞으로 나아간다.

PART 03. 현재 : 쾌락시계

어디든 갈 수 있는 가능성이 있어도 나는 지금, 이곳에 머문다. 나 자신을 사랑하며, 이 순간을 온전히 내 것으로 만든다. 지금 여기에서 느끼는 기쁨과 만족이야말로 가장 확실한 행복이다.

PART 04. 당신의 기억을 버려드립니다

누구나 잊고 싶은 기억이 있다. 오래된 기억의 무게를 내려놓고, 새로운 출발을 다짐하는 시간 여행을 시작한다.

PART 05. 기억의 정원

식물 드로잉을 벽면에 붙여 모두의 기억이 담긴 공동의 정원을 조성한다. 시간이 흘러도 지워지지 않는 기억들이 이곳에 뿌리내린다.

PART 06. 해시계 만들기

시간에 대한 단순하지만 명확한 메시지를 전달한다. 우리는 각자 자신의 방식으로 시간을 정의하고, 직접 그 흐름을 만들어갈 수 있다.

PART 07. 다면체 그림 맞추기 종이접기

시간의 순환 속에서 벗어날 수 없는 인간 존재를 예술적으로 해석한다. 다양한 조각들이 맞춰질 때, 우리는 시간의 의미를 다시금 발견하게 된다.

This project, themed "The Greatness of the Present Encompassing the Past and Future," is an interdisciplinary cultural and artistic event that explores time through a fusion of exhibitions and performances, encouraging audiences to engage with diverse perspectives and emotions. Rather than simply presenting information, the event transforms the exhibition into an immersive sensory experience, using rich storytelling and striking visual elements to evoke deep emotional resonance. The exhibition’s location, Seoul Station, plays a key role in reinforcing the connection between the historical significance of the space and the conceptual narrative of time.

The exhibition follows the natural flow of the building, unfolding in three phases from PART 01 to PART 03, where past, future, and present are symbolized as Clocks of Hope, interwoven with human emotions. At the outset of the journey, visitors are encouraged to confront the irreversible nature of time, recognizing its impartiality. The exhibition serves as a poignant reminder that time flows equally for all, and how one chooses to perceive and interact with it is a deeply personal decision.

The past, often seen as a repository of pain and struggle, is reinterpreted as the Clock of Positivity, offering comfort and reflection. The future, full of possibilities and inspiration, is visualized as the Clock of Aspiration. Finally, the present, where one experiences life’s joys and moments, is embodied as the Clock of Pleasure. These conceptual interpretations are intertwined with various artworks, creating a visually immersive and thought-provoking experience.

From PART 04 to PART 07, the exhibition transitions into an interactive and participatory experience, where visitors can react to the messages conveyed earlier. These spaces function as arenas for self-expression, allowing each participant to define their personal relationship with time. If there are memories they wish to erase, they can discard them, while cherished ones can be nurtured into symbolic gardens, reinforcing the notion of time as a construct shaped by personal meaning.

As the exhibition concludes, visitors find themselves returning to the entrance, a deliberate spatial loop that mirrors humanity’s inescapable relationship with time. This final act underscores the perpetual cycle of beginnings and endings, transforming the audience from passive observers into integral elements of the exhibition itself. Rather than merely showcasing the passage of time, this project reimagines time as an evolving dialogue—one where individuals actively shape, interpret, and participate in its unfolding narrative.

By embracing a contemporary approach to exhibition design, "The Greatness of the Present Encompassing the Past and Future" offers a poetic spatial experience that transcends observation, urging audiences to reconsider their connection to time. This fusion of history, memory, and imagination transforms the exhibition into a living, breathing narrative—one that lingers far beyond its physical space, leaving a lasting impression on those who journey through it.

Looking back, there were moments of hardship and sorrow, but they have all shaped who I am today. Though the past fades like an old album losing its colors, it remains a warm sanctuary of memories that offer comfort and peace.

PART 02. The Future: The Clock of Aspiration

We prepare for the future, but we also dream of it. The ability to imagine what lies ahead is a gift, one that allows us to believe we can go anywhere. The future is unwritten, yet its mere possibility propels us forward.

PART 03. The Present: The Clock of Pleasure

Despite infinite possibilities, I choose to remain here, in this moment. I embrace myself, and in doing so, I claim the world as my own. The joy of the present is the most tangible form of happiness.

PART 04. Letting Go of Your Memories

Everyone has memories they wish to forget. This journey invites you to release the weight of the past and embark on a new beginning, free from what once held you back.

PART 05. The Garden of Memories

A collaborative garden of memories is created by attaching plant drawings to the walls. Just as plants take root, so do the moments we cherish, growing and evolving with time.

​

PART 06. Making a Sundial

This simple yet profound activity conveys a fundamental message about time. We each have the power to define time in our own way and take control of its flow.

​

PART 07. Origami Polyhedral Puzzle

An artistic interpretation of humanity’s inescapable relationship with the cycle of time. As the pieces come together, we gain a deeper understanding of time’s ever-repeating nature.
