본 프로젝트는 삼성동에 위치한 59평형(약 195㎡) 규모의 주거 공간 리모델링으로, 소재와 레이아웃을 중점적으로 고려한 모던하고 심플한 디자인을 구현하는 데 초점을 맞추었다. 최소한의 색상과 마감재를 활용하여 공간을 더욱 쾌적하고 편안하면서도 세련된 분위기로 연출하도록 설계하였다. 불필요한 요소를 철저히 배제한 정제된 공간 구성과 컬러감은 시각적 확장감을 극대화하며, 시간이 지나도 변함없는 조화로운 안정감과 우아함을 유지할 수 있도록 한다.
본격적인 설계에 앞서, 기존 비내력벽과 창호를 철거하여 공간의 개방감을 극대화하고, 모든 구조적 선이 명확하게 정리될 수 있도록 구성하였다. 바닥부터 천장까지 이어지는 풀 하이트(Full Height) 도어 구조를 적용하여 공간의 일체감을 높이고, 더욱 깔끔하고 모던한 분위기를 조성하였다. 이러한 정돈된 벽체와 공간 구획은 디자인 전반에 걸쳐 설득력을 더하는 견고한 기반이 되어준다. 최소한의 장식 요소만을 활용하면서도 오래도록 머물고 싶은 공간을 완성하기 위해, 마감재 선정에 심혈을 기울였다. 뉴트럴한 베이지 톤의 원목 마루와 화사하면서도 차분한 색감의 페인트 도장은 따뜻한 생동감을 부여하며, 대리석과 컬러 포인트 가구 사이에서 조화를 이루는 중심 역할을 한다.
거실은 개방감을 극대화하기 위해 기존 벽체를 철거하고, 광폭 원목 마루, 뉴트럴 톤 벽 마감, 그리고 정교하게 계산된 빛의 흐름을 통해 공간에 깊이감과 안정감을 부여하였다. 거실과 자연스럽게 연결된 주방 공간에는 대면형 아일랜드를 배치하여 공간을 기능적으로 분리하는 동시에 시각적 흐름을 유지하도록 설계하였다. LDK(Living-Dining-Kitchen) 구조의 단점을 보완하기 위해, 맞춤 설계된 대형 아일랜드를 활용하여 1차적으로 공간을 구획하고, 거실 소파의 배치를 식탁과 완전히 등지게 하여 공간별 독립성을 더욱 강조하였다. 주방의 상·하부장 및 냉장고는 뉴트럴한 핑크 베이지 톤으로 마감하여 공간에 은은한 활기를 더했고, 아일랜드 상판은 대리석 마감을 적용하여 전체적인 컬러 밸런스를 조율하며 균형감을 더하였다.
조명 설계 역시 전체적인 색온도를 통일하는 동시에, 공간별 기능과 분위기에 맞춘 포인트 조명을 배치하여 더욱 풍성하고 아늑한 분위기를 연출하였다. 빛의 미묘한 차이를 활용하여 조명의 역할을 극대화하였으며, 공간 곳곳에 배치된 조명이 공간의 깊이감을 더욱 강조하도록 설계되었다. 모든 실내 도어는 히든 도어(Hidden Door) 디자인을 적용하여 벽면과 자연스럽게 일체화되도록 설계하여 미니멀한 감각을 극대화하였다. 히든 도어는 개폐 여부에 따라 공간의 경험을 유연하게 변화시키며, 닫혀 있을 때는 독립적인 공간감을 제공하고, 열렸을 때는 공간 간의 자연스러운 흐름을 형성하여 깊이감을 극대화한다. 또한, 클라이언트의 수집 취향을 반영하여 불필요한 장식을 최소화하고, 절제된 형태와 마감을 적용하여 모던한 감각을 더욱 강조하였다.
바쁜 일정과 유동적인 라이프스타일을 고려하여 완전한 휴식 공간으로 설계된 마스터 베드룸은 거실보다 더욱 아늑하고 따뜻한 색감을 적용하였다. 침실에 들어서는 순간부터 심리적 안정감을 느낄 수 있도록, 넓고 푹신한 침대와 브라운 계열의 프레임을 배치하였으며, 암막 커튼과 절제된 조명을 활용하여 깊고 편안한 수면을 위한 최적의 환경을 조성하였다.
본 프로젝트는 레이아웃 최적화, 뉴트럴 톤의 섬세한 조화, 조명의 정교한 연출을 통해 단순한 미니멀리즘을 넘어, 편안함과 우아함이 공존하는 세련된 주거 공간으로 완성되었다. 공간의 본질에 집중한 설계를 통해 시간이 지나도 변함없는 균형감과 깊이 있는 미학을 실현하며, 클라이언트가 일상 속에서 편안함과 여유를 만끽할 수 있는 궁극의 주거 공간을 제공한다.
This project is a remodeling of a 195-square-meter (approximately 59-pyeong) residential space located in Samseong-dong, focusing on modern and minimalist design by emphasizing materials and layout. The primary objective was to create a comfortable, sophisticated, and visually expansive environment by utilizing a restrained color palette and minimal finishes. By eliminating unnecessary elements, the space achieves a refined composition that enhances openness and balance while maintaining a timeless aesthetic.
Prior to the main design process, non-load-bearing walls and existing window frames were removed to maximize spatial openness, ensuring that all structural lines were meticulously aligned for a clean and seamless finish. Full-height doors, extending from floor to ceiling, were incorporated to reinforce the unity of the space and achieve a sleek, contemporary ambiance. These meticulously crafted architectural elements form a solid foundation, providing coherence and depth to the overall design concept.
To create a residence that is both elegant and inviting, extensive consideration was given to the selection of finishing materials. The harmonious combination of soft yet luminous paint tones and neutral beige-toned wooden flooring exudes warmth and vitality while anchoring the surrounding elements, including marble surfaces and colored furniture accents.
In the living room, walls were removed to enhance openness and visual continuity, allowing wide-plank wood flooring, neutral-toned wall finishes, and precisely calculated lighting to introduce depth and a sense of stability. The kitchen, seamlessly integrated with the living area, features a face-to-face island layout, ensuring both functional separation and visual fluidity. To mitigate the potential drawbacks of an LDK (Living-Dining-Kitchen) configuration, a custom-designed, spacious island was introduced to define the space. Additionally, the living room sofa was strategically positioned to completely face away from the dining area, reinforcing the distinctiveness of each zone. The cabinetry and refrigerator are finished in a neutral pink-beige tone, infusing the space with subtle vibrancy, while the marble island countertop ties the entire color scheme together, ensuring aesthetic equilibrium.
Lighting design was meticulously planned to maintain a consistent color temperature throughout the residence, with warm-toned accent lighting strategically placed to enhance depth and coziness. Subtle variations in illumination amplify the spatial atmosphere, ensuring that each lighting fixture contributes meaningfully to the overall ambiance.
To further elevate the minimalist aesthetic, hidden doors were installed throughout the interior, seamlessly blending with the walls to enhance the purity of the design. These hidden doors allow for flexible spatial experiences, offering privacy when closed and fostering natural spatial flow when open. In consideration of the client’s appreciation for curated collections, decorative elements were intentionally minimized, emphasizing restrained, sculptural finishes to reinforce the refined modern aesthetic.
Recognizing the client’s dynamic lifestyle, the master bedroom was designed as a sanctuary of complete relaxation. Warmer and more intimate tones were used in contrast to the communal areas, creating a psychologically soothing environment. A generously sized, plush bed paired with a rich brown-toned bedframe promotes deep relaxation, while blackout curtains and carefully controlled lighting ensure optimal conditions for restful sleep.
Through optimized spatial layout, a sophisticated neutral palette, and meticulously orchestrated lighting, this project transcends traditional minimalism, establishing a refined living space where comfort and elegance coexist. By focusing on architectural purity and material harmony, the design achieves a timeless balance that evolves gracefully with time, offering the client a sanctuary that fosters tranquility and effortless living.
